Another Security Six

Picked up an unusual Security Six at the gun show. A "Police Marksman" edition.

The seller said it had never been fired (that will soon change :D).

The barrel is heavier than my other 6" Six and the stock grips are on another level.

Thanks guys! I have a weakness for the Security Six.
This one is really no different except for the markings and the nicer grips. When I compare it to my other 6" model I noticed it has a 2 ounce heavier barrel. I think the only reason for the heavier barrel is the manufacture date and not because it's a "special edition". I prefer the balance of the older blued model with the lighter barrel, but the extra couple ounces may help with the recoil. I guess I'll find out when I shoot it.:)

I used to have a Speed Six, the Ex has it and and a Grendel P-10,

I miss the Ruger, not so much the P-10.

That is a beautiful Security-Six-and a great find!:) The only problem is that it belongs in my collection(Ha!)!:eek::D
 
Does the new six have the same rate of twist ? I have seen a number of Colt barrels(1:14 twist) on S&W and Rugers, I think they normally have a 1:18.75 twist.

boa2-- My Six collection is very modest compared to yours, but I'm not to proud to ask for a donation. I sure could use a shorty to go with my 4" and 6" Sixes.
