Another reason to dislike Micheal Douglas, UN Messenger of Peace

Nice to see a movie star is an "expert" on nuclear disarmament. Might see Pee Wee Herman in Switzerland next speaking on economics. Amazing isn't it?

And let us not forget that his self-chosen profession is acting. And since he seems to do it well, he has the ability to purvey concepts, and notions in a unique way to the commoners.
Every TV show, or movies about a real-life tragedy, or novel, has actors who bring out the best of the charater they're trying to "EMULATE".
And that's all he's doing there, emulating someone else's views on a particular topic. The fact that he's charismatic, is to the someone's advantage. All the while, the audience is caught up in the face, the voice, the manner of the speaker, and the rest is history...

The most foolish mistake we could make would be to allow the subjected people to carry arms; history shows that all conquerers who have allowed their subjected people to carry arms have prepared their own fall.

This UN Messenger of Peace title is a real hoot. Just how many more of our esteemed entertainers are "UN Officials". Elton John?, Barbara Streisand?, Hanoi Jane??!

<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>"Tony Blair commands great respect.
Oh, give me a break. Tony Blair is seen as a shoddy imitation of Clinton.

<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>The horrific prospect opens up a world of nuclear anarchy, where any feud between countries could degenerate into a death warrant for the entire planet."
Same song, same verse. It didn't work during the Cold War, what makes him think it'll work this time?

<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>Mr Douglas concentrated on America's proposed national missile defence system, successor to "Star Wars", designed to protect it from nuclear attack. He said that if America went ahead with it, Russia and China would treat this as the end of the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty. The Non-Proliferation Treaty and the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty were also under threat.
And what, pray tell, is his point? We are the only idiots on the block who stand by the three treaties. Russia and China ignore all three treaties at their pleasure. Moron.

I like his dad. Kirk is a man. Young Michael is a puling imitation.
