Another question about caliber choice and capacity

Okay, so every few weeks, someone rehashs the old question:

Would you rather have 15 rounds of 9mm, or 8 of .45.

Blah, blah, blah.

I have a question somewhat like that, with a revolver slant.

Looking at small frame pocket-type revovlers, would you rather have a 5-shot .38, or a 6-shot .32 H&R Magnum?

I have to tell you, with some of the research I have done, I am extremely interested in the .32 Mag. The ballistic numbers look good, and I have heard real good things about it also. The only thing keeping me from buying one is a general lack of ammo for it in my area, and the expense of ammo when I do see it.

I also find the .32 mag a very interesting round. One of the forum members is very pleased with the .32 mag, I believe it might be Kentucky Rifle. If I get another j frame hammerless (airweight version) I will be seriously looking at the .32 vs. the .38. Mike

Well, since I already reload the 38, that would make the most sense for me.

I kind of have the "Marine" philosophy - just a few good calibers.

:)

Edit: oh, and priv8ter: this was a pretty good question; much more relevant that "which would you rather have, a .22 single shot derringer or a 16" naval gun ... ?"

Grrrr...

But, .357 isn't one of the choices!!!!

Okay...I could be a major wimp. I have only tried a .357 on two different occasions. The first time, I was shooting with a buddy that had an N-Frame with a 4" barrel(not sure which model). I liked it. Some kick, but it was enjoyable kick.

Then, I had a buddy with an SP-101, snubby barrel. I didn't like it one little bit, and I know I would never practice with it if I got one. I know, you can practice with .38 in a .357, but I refuse to practice with something, then carry something else.

So, that is why I say 5 of .38, or 6 of .32 H&R.

I wouldn't want to be shot with any of them.

6 rounds of 38special.
