another mossberg question

maybe this is part of my jamming problem with my mossberg, is the magazine tube suppose to be tightened all the way down or can it be lose?

It needs to be tight. If it's unscrewed very far, a shell rim could hang up in the gap. Be careful that you don't squish the tube when you tighten it.

Possibly,

I gun is like a car in the respect that all systems must work together. I'm not too sure exactly what your problems are, but I would tighten the tube up a bit.

As far as failing to eject...make sure the ejector is not bent up and the screw is in there tight.

Hope this helps some,

Stinger

Maybe questioning the obvious, but...

Is it plugged in?... ooops, sorry, wrong forum.

Actually, I was thinking that you might need to check the ejector screw and make sure it is not loose/out. I've read lots of posts about how rarely, if ever, anyone has problems with the 500. I've only got about 1000 rounds thru mine with not even a hint of a problem.

In my experience , Mossy 500s are as reliable as bricks (all I've ever owned, many 1000s of rounds, never a mech failure)..So I'd check all the things mentioned above...If nothing obvious as to why it fails to eject, have gunsmith check it out, maybe very minor parts replacement

I will check that screw you guys spoke of, the funny part about the gun is how long it has lasted this thing is a total beater, I have had it for a while and haven't been the nicest too it like dropping it in the dirt and stuff like that good gun until this problem.
