I've been very good lately and my last 3 purchases were very specific, very practical. This time , ummmm not so much :
Everyone needs to at least fire a 44 mag DE once ! Had a chance to fire about 20 rounds and while my wrists are sore, the smile on my face is awesome. Not as much kick as I expected, the semi action recoil rolls back pretty reasonable, sort of like a polymer Glock .45 acp on steroids. Yes the gun is absolutely heavy at 4.3 lbs, and the issue is it feels very nose heavy. Accuracy ? Pretty poor but it's not the gun it's me shooting an unfamiliar pistol. You definitely need a unique hold technique with the DE's. Hold too high on the grip and your LS thumb will bump the slide lock upon recoil and the slide locks back. If you limp wrist the pistol you allow too much recoil decelleration which causes the action to short stroke and you get a FTF. But with a nice firm grip, and adequate thumb distance from the slide lock they function perfect. The DE's need some warm ammo, and I shot Fiocchi 240 HP's which advertise 1320 fps which cycled the pistol perfect. Already bought some 44 mag handloading components and looking foward to working up some accuracy loads.
