Another "help me decide which one" thread

So for my next purchase, I have my eyes set on two guns:

1) S&W M64 (NY police trade-in revolver, in DAO since the hammer is bobbed) - I plan on having my gunsmith cut the 4" barrel down to 2" or so and use it as a snubbie, as I don't have a snub nose revolver yet. I already have a S&W 65, and a S&W 28 on the way. The 64 would supplement my small S&W revolver collection

or

2) Romanian TT-33 copy (to take advantage of the relatively cheap and currently plentiful ammo). I like the ballistics of the 7.62x25 round. Plus, it will also complement my WWII era collection. My grandfather, who fought in the Vietnam War stated that he used to have one and carried it too - so it will also have sentimental value. I would love to get a Chinese or Russian TT-33, but the Romanian will be ok.

I will be using either mainly as range toys. From time to time, I might carry either one as a CCW. I know I will definitely be carrying the TT-33 in the woods as a knock-about pistol.

So, which one would you choose and why? I want to hear mainly what people have to say about the Romanian TT-33.

p.s. - I know, I know: GET BOTH.

Why cut down a police revolver?

If you want a snubbie pick up a J-frame Cheif Special. It will be a far better weapon than a cut down 64. I know a few guys that have Tokarevs and they love them. Cheap to shoot and powerful.

I like the idea of buying the SW and cutting it down, so long as the cost of the smith did not make the gun prohibitively high. SW K-frame snubbies are not that cheap. You might also consider getting it cut to three inches. You should be able to hide the extra inch if you carry and it really makes a difference in the sight radius. I have snubs in 2, 2 and 1/2, and three inches. For other than pocket carry, I like the three inch barrel. Personal preference.

If you want a snubbie pick up a J-frame Chief Special. It will be a far better weapon than a cut down 64.
For other than pocket carry, I disagree. The K-frames have a much nicer trigger than the J-frames. In addition, the K-frame will soak up recoil better.
