Another good used purchase

I’m on an email list from a nearby gun shop in my area and I was notified of a one day sale this past Sunday. I came across 2 Winchester 12 gauge pump Defenders and I purchased one of them… And I regret that I did not purchase both of them together!

One was the newer XP model made in Turkey and the other was a good ol’ USA New Haven Connecticut all black military style Defender. The American made was $200 and the XP made in turkey was $235. To be honest… Both guns looked practically brand new but I settled on the American model 1300.

Eight years ago at this same store, I purchased a Winchester Ranger model 120 (Deer slug barel) and it has really been fantastic and flawless for me.. I also believe this gun is from the late 1980s. I’ve done some Internet research on this model 1300 Defender and it seems to get very high marks. The high marks seem to be in reference to the dual slide rails that it has for stable and fast pump action and the fact that it has a rotary bolt that is found on more expensive Italian models apparently.

I tried the 1300 Defender out extensively today shooting sporting clays and it was a real performer..Extremely well balanced ..light and very fast action.

Thank you for letting me share another positive used gun experience and the good service of my local gun shop.
