Another Browning A5 confusion

I know, here's another silly A5 serial number problem. My dad recently died and I acquired his Belgium A5. I know he purchased this Browning while overseas in Germany sometime prior to 1968. I went to the Browning site and tried to determine the guns age. After reading all the serial number stuff I'm more confused now than before. I'v read some of the older threads before deciding to ask for help. The gun has the rounded knob on the grip, checkered grip and forearm, fancy engraving, light twelve on receiver, no vent rib, St. Louis MO on barrel, made in Belgium on barrel, FN buttplate, magazine cutt-off on left side and the safety is behind the trigger guard. The serial number is on the bottom of the receiver by where the shells are inserted into the magazine tube. It appears the serial number is 5 digits long, and directly above the 5 digit number is either the numbers 46, or the number 4 and letter G. Can anyone me determine the age of the gun or do you need more information? Any help would be appreciated! Thank you.

Thank you. I assumed since he got it in 75 it had to have been manufactured prior to that. I also noticed some symbols on the left side of barrel. I believe they are manufacturer markings? A crown, letter E below the crown and above letters LG, and a star below LG. Then there's 12-70 in a circle? and a captial letter D. Can anyone explain or help lead me in the right direction on these markings! I have pics if needed. Thanx a million for the help already.
