Excerpt: "The Indiana State Police are catching *&#@ from all directions over a new background check policy that if implemented, could kill the largest gun show in Indiana - the Indianapolis 1500.

As seen before in the recent past, the National Instant Background Check System (NICS) has suffered breakdowns at the worst times - like weekends during large guns shows. But in the case of Indiana, the next system breakdown will be man-made."
IMPORTANT NOTICE: NICS

You gotta watch the Sierra Times. I initially liked them as another fire-breathing conservative newspaper, but I have found that they sometimes tailor the news to fit. An example was their recent article on the 29 Palms questionnaire that left out pertinent information that would have negated their claim.

There were a couple of threads on Indiana NICS on TFL recently. See the below for the latest info.

With apologies to KAM_Indianapolis, I copy his post here.

"Topic: REGARDING Indiana NICS Shutdown

I couldn't find the original thread. Received the following response from the Indiana State Police.

Were were having some staffing problems and thought we might have to shorten hours on a temporary basis. However the issue has been resolved and the NICS hous will remain the same as they are now.

hope that clears up any rumors and provides some much needed information.

Maybe the Times hadn't been updated on this prior to publication as there was only a two days' difference, and, maybe they never checked with the Indiana State Police.
