I do not want to take your joy of a nice gun, but what do you want to shoot with this pips-queak ?
If you take ballistics of a .22 out of a short barrel you will be disappointed.
Actually, with revolvers, a 3" barrel is the rough equivalent to a 4" barrel on a semi-auto, so velocity doesn't suffer too much.
Still, I had in mind to hunt Rhino with this one... do you mean the 3" barrel takes this gun out of the one-shot-stop category for such beasts?
Darn!
Perhaps I'll have to restrict it's use to Cape Buffalo instead...
9x19, your jokes are hardly amusing. I hope you know that you should never attempt to take anything larger than an elk with the .22lr. It just simply is not enough gun!

On the contrary my friend whiskey.... If you take careful aim at the middle toe on the right front foot of a charging Rhino, you will cause it to trip, resulting in a broken neck. This was very effective on my last Safari, while using my Davis 22lr. Derringer!
-and looking at these pics, I'm very bad. Nice score. One of my carry pieces is a 3-inch mdl 37, pre-traitorousness, and it is the most accurate of my listed sidearms.
I blame it all on a gun-writer... Terry Murbaugh, who used to post here sometimes... who did such a good job of convincing me way back in the '80s!
I have several of S&W's 3" J frames in .38 and .357 witht he full lug barrel and adjustable sights... what Terry used to call a "Trail Masterpiece"... and they are!
