DALLAS (AP) -- A mechanic who had recently suffered personal problems walked into the trucking business where he worked Tuesday and shot two fellow employees, killing both, authorities said.

Larry Noble, 48, who had worked at RDO Trucking Center a little more than a year, was being held on a charge of murder. Authorities expect to upgrade the charge to capital murder after the second death.

Police said he walked into the trucking center and fired several shots about 7:45 a.m.

Ron Penix, 47, died shortly afterward at Parkland Memorial Hospital. The other victim, Sam Porter, also 47, died later Tuesday afternoon at Parkland.

Both victims suffered from multiple gun shots from a single handgun.

After the shooting, Noble got into his truck and drove to Sulphur Springs, about 75 miles northeast of Dallas, where he was captured by the Texas Department of Public Safety, police said.

A motive for the shootings has not yet been established. However, the man had been showing signs of personal problems during the last few days, said Chris Gilliam, spokesman for the Dallas Police Department.

Gilliam did not know whether Penix and Porter were specifically targeted or what their job descriptions were.

Officials with the trucking center, located west of downtown Dallas, could not be reached for comment. Calls to the company were not answered.

OK, I don't want to sound cynical....

But I'll bet that this will be all over the news for several days.

However, I doubt we'll hear about another little news item in which two children were killed more than once or twice: http://www.cnn.com/2000/US/07/11/bc.truckinriver.ap/index.html

quote:
COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) -- In a neatly written note to her husband, a woman gave the only hint as to why she killed their three sons and herself by driving the family's pickup truck into the Missouri River.

Karen Duncan told Chris Duncan that she was distraught over problems in their marriage of nearly 10 years, then ended the note with a chilling declaration:

"Your children will be in God's hands now."[/quote]

(There's more to the news item, but you get the point.)

This is the primary reason the Anti's will use for disarming us and why we will eventually lose.

"Nobody should have guns!! They can just walk in any place and start shooting!!! There's no way to control them!!"

And in a sense they would be correct - while at the same time ignoring the thousands or millions of times we are protected with firearms.

The sheeple have been easily convinced that a single incident is cause for a change in policy or law.

CMOS

NRA? Good. Now join the GOA!

The NRA is our shield, the GOA will be our sword.

"This is the primary reason the Anti's will use for disarming us and why we will evntually lose."

Let's not freak out here, CMOS.

I ain't going to allow myself to be disarmed and neither are you, hoss.

We will not lose if we're willing to win.

Sounds like a precursor for the if an anonymous caller feel like you are a threat to anyone your guns can be taken away and you can be forced to undergo head shrinker therapy feel good law. Wonder if they had a no guns policy at the place? Sad that these two were killed, but why didnt the police protect them??? Oh yeah, cause cant. Why didnt they protect themsleves??? Probably cause they were law abiding people (soon to be an endangered species)
