Ankle Holster

Do any of you use an ankle holster for regular carry? If so, with what gun? Any problems with this mode of carry?

I have ankle holsters for my PPK, my model 60, and my 342ti. I recommend them highly.

My advice, however, is to get a good ankle holster (ie, one by Galco). Definately one with padding. Don't go for those elastic ones with the velcro tab. They're junk and the gun will dig into your leg.

Also, don't try to use it with a big gun. Keep it small.

While some say it is slow, I'd rather have a slow draw than no draw. As I can't always wear a jacket, the ankle holster goes with me when no other gun can. Also, if you're sitting, the ankle holster is as fast or faster than other draws.

Hope this helps.

Tom, I hope you are right. I had a post awhile back asking the same, and the consensus was Alessi. (27, BTW)I just dropped close to a C note on one. It should be here next week. Fingers crossed

I've had an Alessi ankle holster for my G26 for over a year now and wear it about half the time. The other half is with a IWB Alessi Talon Plus. The ankle holster is a fully padded unit that does not have the upper belt that goes under the knee high up on calf. I've had several other brands and the Alessi is the most confortable by far.. no contest. MWT

Hope you didn't make the mistake I did. When I ordered the holster it said on the order form left or right? I assumed that was which hand you shot with so I specified left. It was which leg to fit the holster . Now I shoot left handed and I carry an ankle holster on my left leg (inside)!

Glock 26 in a Galco Ankle Glove. Very comfy but only carried this way twice before weather dictated that I wear shorts. But when winter arrives, I will wear it again, in addition to something on my hip.
