Ankle holster

Summer is finally making it to the Northwest, the rain is warmer.

Any suggestions for a good ankle or calf holster?

Would hold 3" Model 36 or Snubbie Model 60.

Get one with the support strap unless you want it bumping around on the top of your shoe.

I'm using a cheap Uncle Mike's nylon holster at the moment. It's bulkier than it has to be, but works okay.

Next time I buy an ankle holster I'm going to look for something with a spring clip or "draw through" strap. The strap on the holster I have positively retains the gun... but it requires a lot of fumbling or both hands to get the gun out.

I asking this out of curiosity not as a knock. I've read countless threads from people who live in cold climates about switching weapons due to seasonal change. Were I live we have two seasons; cool in December and January and then HOT. The 100 degree days start in February and go through October. Most of the people I know, that carry, use full size guns year round. I carry a Colt Government year round while wearing shorts and a light shirt. Whats the need to go big or small depending on your level of snow?

No snow here, just rain. Winter is cold and wet, so the coat allows hip or shoulder holster carry from fall to spring.

Summer is dry and warm, so the coat can stay in the car much of the time.

I'm one of those folks that think wearing a shirt that is not tucked in is just a step away from tribal scars and barbarism.

Got it. Different locales, different customs. In my area Aloha shirts or a T-shirt with a white cotton, open, untucked shirt over it is SOP. And I'm in my 60's, not a kid. It's hot here, man. Loose, light clothes is were it's at.
