Ankle holster for Ruger LCR

Just got my fobus ankle holster.
Seller said it was for the LCR/SP101, but holster only specifies SP101.
Did not adjust tension, but LCR fell out of holster onto concrete floor as I pulled up pants leg.

Don't buy, this is the worst design I have ever seen!
Because it is a hard molded holster, it sticks out further than a tumor in stage four! No way could one even attempt to conceal this unless they wore clown pants. Cuff was very stiff to conform to the rigid holster, so that the cuff would not secure tightly around a medium size 9 shoe ankle. So it flopped around, and stuck out, just exactly what you want in a concealed ankle holster.
40.00 bucks for crappy design. Web material was thin and did not fasten like velcro should.

So I probably should have gotten the Galco ankle lite!

I'll probably try and make my own. It will definitely come out better than this piece of junk!

Perhaps another member for my 'holster hatred' group I'm thinking about forming.

IMhO they really are frustrating things.

I've used good ankle holsters, and some not so good. I will say, ankle carry has its advantages, especially if you are driving. It's also great for a BUG.

I used the Desantis Apache, and thought it worked very well. Very slim, easy to hide.

"It's also great for a BUG."

I can't think of a worse, more useless place for any gun whether BUG or not...

But, they would be perfect if your attacker will stop and let you bend over to tie your shoes before the attack!

I only plan on carrying a gun on my ankle when I'm carrying a primary gun. Its a great place for a BUG but if you have to get to it in a hurry your screwed.

I wear western boots so I can get away with a IWB and the LCP. It works good but almost impossible for me to get to.

Hold on mr bad guy, I gotta pull my pants leg up...........

It would be nice if someone made a ankle holster that could be drawn downward and had a positive retention to hold the gun until you need it. Couldn't be too hard to make.

for such a light gun, the renegade or apache rigs should work well. if youre going to be active, and I mean running et cetera I'd look for something with a true retention strap instead.

I use one of these with my S&W 637. Excellent retention and many times I forget I wearing it. I recommend the extensions if you plan on wearing it over boots. Drawing my 637 from the ankle holster with correct fitting pants is not any more difficult or awkward than drawing it or the 1911 from a IWB when wearing a coat or jacket. For folks that can't bend over to touch their toes it's probably a poor choice.
