android ballistics app?

hey guys, was wondering what people are using for trajectory app on the go. I would like something pretty much just like the JBM ballistic program.

Been playing with the StreLok. Thanks for that suggestion, it seems adequate for my needs since I can gather my own coefficients etc. May I ask what the 30$ for Applied Ballistics is getting me? The high price makes it intriguing....does it do velocity calculations as well or something amazing?

Another vote for Strelok. Simple and very accurate dopes , especially if you enter in your specific chronograph velocities. All my rifles are zeroed at 200 meters, and when I need to dope for 600 yds, the Strelok data is spot on within about 1.5 MOA . Takes a bit to enter all your rifle and cartridge data (I shoot 6 different rifles). But once you have all your data entered it's very simple to bounce around between rifles and alternate weight bullets.

Playing with the strelok even more, I am very pleased. They have about every cheap scope I own in the preprogrammed database. Even my nikkosterling. I need to get home and look up all my bullet CE, but other than that, I can't think what else I would want outside of a quickload for the phone. Thanks again

This is off topic, but since you guys seem to know what your doing. How do you go about quickly estimating your target angle......I need to go back to trig 101

I also like Strelok. I used it recently to decide on a reticle for a scope purchase. I like the fact that zillions of reticles are in the app, even Soviet military scope reticles, not that I'm shopping for that.

I've seen some who use Angle Meter for their Android and it worked nice. My experience was that by the time the angle was enough to make a true difference, the incline/decline was so steep I knew to make the adjustment manually.

Huge bullet library...
G7 as well as G1 BC can be used.
Trajectory validation. Can't do that with Strelok. Sometimes the calc is dead on, other times it might tell you 14 minutes at 700 yards (for example)- but it's actually 13.5 minutes in reality. You can input the "trued" data and the program will adjust accordingly.
It'll also interface with a Kestrel bluetooth for wind, atmospheric pressure, temp.

For many shooters it would be unnecessary- especially if shooting no further than 600 yards or so. It's only when you get well beyond that, that the very minor effects of temp, pressure, coriolis, and others begin to become noticeable.

I use Strelok- been thinking about getting AB, but need to see how user friendly it is first. Don't want to spend all my time at the range punching keys, nor hours trying to figure it out :D

I bought the Shooter app waste of money for my amateur skill level, that app was WAY over my head more geared towards the competitive master marksmen.

yeah, the shooter app is 10.00, but looked kinda cheap for some reason, although it does have high marks.

applied ballistics is 30.00

strelok is only 5.45$ and so far I like it. it has a trueing feature on the + version although I haven't messed with it. also has angle finding with the camera, this wasn't on the free version I had earlier.

ill stick with strelok for now, although I may get applied ballistics if I ever feel the need. thanks for the suggestion, just what I needed.

It has hundreds of more scope choices. It has, I suppose, over a hundred target shape/size choice, which I don't care about. It has a "trueing" or validation feature that allows you to correct the program on where the bullet actually landed and will change that particular loading to reflect it, may be useful. Has the angle finder using the camera and he says in the comments that he is adding bullet database in next update. I feel its way worth the 5 bucks and then some, but then again....the free version had my scopes, and if it puts the bullet where I want it than I likely won't be using the other features. Bit the free was so good, I felt I needed to support the author anyways since there is no advertising or anything else for him to profit from.

I say all this w/o actually using the product yet, but it will be put to use trying to go for 600 with my mosin at sunrise tomorrow morn. So ill let you know how it goes

I use ExteriorBallistics on my Android. It's cheap, works great, and if you need to know the target angle, it has a built-in function which turns your phone's camera into a sight picture. Point it at the target, and it reads angles; cool.
