Clinton Protest

BOULDER, COLORADO
Web posted on 10/14/00

As the bodies of Navy sailors arrive in America... the President shamelessly grubs for money in Denver.

On Thursday October 12th, a terrorist attack on the U.S.S. Cole in the port of Aden, Yemen, resulted in the deaths of at least seventeen gallant American sailors.

Several are missing... and dozens wounded.

Today, the 14th of October, saw the bodies of several of our brave men and women returned to their homeland. As their remains arrived at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware, there was a glaring and conspicuous absence.

William Jefferson Clinton, their Commander in Chief and the President of the United States - didn't see fit to be there.

There was money in Denver, you see.

President Clinton attended a fundraiser at the Oxford Hotel in Denver, Colorado. Despite his duty to our troops - and despite the opposition of the people of Denver - President Clinton decided that political cash was more important than his duty to the men and women who gave their lives for their nation.

The Tyranny Response Team was on the scene to call our President to account for his irresponsible pandering to the lucre of politics.

With bullhorns, flags and signs, the TRT was joined by the people of Denver, many who brought signs of their own decrying the abdication of duty by the President.

Here is a part of President Clinton's statement regarding the attack on the U.S.S. Cole:

"If their intention was to deter us from our mission of promoting peace and security in the Middle East, they will fail utterly."

It also failed to deter him from raising cold, hard cash.

May God bless the brave men and women of the U.S.S. Cole who gave their lives in the service of their nation. May our People reach out to their families... and our armed forces reach out with justice!

Let us hope that January 20th see a new President - and one who values the lives of our troops over the funds of campaigning!

I have to wonder, if Clinton or Gore had been there when the bodies arrived, would they have been criticized for trying to make political hay out of the families' grief?

David,

That's not the point. Clinton himself should have been there. He is the Commander in Chief.

You could be assured the main stream media would look upon it favorably and report it as such. After all, he's their boy.

Just like you don't hear anything from them in a negative light now for his failure to attend the arrival.

No, the only screaming would have been if George Bush Jr. decided to attend the arrival of our fallen soldiers.

Clinton's responsibilities lie with the highest bidder.

Forget about Clinton ever doing anything even remotely resembling "honorable." Its just not in him. There is no bottom, no low too low and nothing too degrading for the man.

Contender,

I think the point is that, especially in an election year, there is the possibility that President Clinton showing up would turn the event into a media circus, when it should be a solemn time for the families to receive their dead loved ones. If he had shown up I have no doubt that some people would accuse him of trying to use the families' pain as a political photo op, or just claim that he should be ashamed to show his face in the presence of our brave dead sailors. If you think no one would say that, just search TFL for the words "Clinton" and "Klinton" (the more contemptuous spelling).

I realize I am in the minority on this board, because I do not assume that President Clinton is the Antichrist and that everything he does must have an evil and despicable motive. I think that, like all politicians Republican and Democrat, that he is a prostitute to our grossly unfair campaign finance system, but I cannot go along with the folks who would accuse him of base motives if he personally delivered a cure for cancer.

I think he was right to stay away. I think the press should have stayed away too. It may be news to them, but it should be a private family time for grieving.

It's a good thing Clinton and Gore weren't there.

Clinton would have tried to "console" the widows and daughters by getting them in bed, and Gore would have tried to claim credit for the decedents' accomplishments.

David,

You have a perfectly valid point.

However, I maintain that he is the commander in chief of the armed services and is ultimately responsible as every president is for the safety of the troops he commands. The buck stops with him.

Whether or not the media chose to make a "circus" out of his appearance there is up to the media. To hell with all of them. He is still the president of the United States and his duty is to show by being there an acknowledgement of our resolve against these terrorist cowards that committed this horrible act.

Also to show the families that he does in fact care and acknowledges his responsibility in this matter.

For him to be on a fundraiser on the very same day that these fallen sailors arrived home is totally despicable and shows a callous disregard for their memory.

You don't need to think he is the Anti Christ to come to that conclusion.

David:

Re your observations on Clinton or Klinton, response to Contender, however one might spell it, you are right about one thing. He is a prostitute. The characterization should end right there, without qualification, for even with "campaign reform", however one might spell that, Clinton would remain exactly what he is. Please read on.

I believe that an earlier statement of his sums it all up very nicely, I believe. "Americans have to many freedoms" he said. He also had something to say on the subject of people trying to retain what they viewed as their constitutional rights, and the upset that their efforts caused. He seems to say, and I thing he actually believes this, that when the citizen differs with the state, that there is only one possible conclusion to be drawn, that being that it is the citizen who is wrong.

Clinton is not only a prostitute, he is a dangerous prostitute, for while a legitimate prostitute might spread veneral disease, this can usually be checked with proper medical care. The infections that Clinton spreads, the diminishment of the individual and the trashing of their rights is something ever so much more dangerous. This is an infection that is much harder to check, in case you hadn't noticed.

Should President Clinton have been there when the deceased arrived? Probably not.

Should the Commander-in-Chief of the United States Armed Forces been making money and having a good time while the bodies of our slain were being unloaded? Definently not.

The parasitic little slime could have had the grace and courtesy to cancel his appearance at the party and issued a quiet statement from the Rose Garden to take the eye of the Media off of the bereaved.

Nooo, there was money to be made, so the Commander-in-Chief, the head of the military, the Representative of the People of the United States, had to go rub shoulders with sycophants, eating, drinking and being merry. While those who have given their all were waiting in cold caskets, and their loved ones prepared to say "Goodbye" to too many lives lost too young for their Country.

David.
Yep, Slick should have stayed away. He is a disgrace as a Commander and Chief of the Armed Services.

He may not be the Antichrist, but he is Evil, Dispicable and a Lier. :)
