Anaconda and hot 45 Colt Loads

I recently spotted a 45 Colt Anaconda for a good price ($445) that I am considering picking up. Most of the stuff I read has an Anaconda, Redhawk and Blackhawk will handle hot loads in 45 Colt (near .44). Anyone know the Anaconda is okay first hand with these hot loads? Also what IS a hot load in 45 Colt without consulting one of my manuals? I read a few posts after I searched.....

Anaconda

First, if it is in good shape $445 is a very good price these days.

As to hot loads I would think they would be any over the "standard loads" listed in a manual as acceptable in any .45 Colt gun. If they were "off the shelf loads" I would say hot would be Garrett and Corbon hunting loads. I would rate the Anaconda as beefier than the N frame and not quite as beefy as a Redhawk. As to what to load I will let others recommend that.

I still don't get why even make .45LC 'Hot Loads' that some idiot could accidentally put into his dads Peacemaker. Seems to make no sense, just get a .454.

Just my 2c.. I know there's lots of experimenters that like playing with LC (if I could get a 6-shot 2" DA I'd be one of them!).

I did some searching of Garrett, Buffalo Bore and Corbon and the Anaconda was specifically mentioned by Buffalo Bore. It's an apparent good deal so I may just jump on it anyway. As for the 454, I intend to get a SRH in the future similar to my buddies that I like shooting. I guess I am just a sucker for Anacondas, especially when they are about a grand now new and I keep finding these used ones.

Here is an excellent site on the .45LC http://www.sixgunner.com/linebaugh . Wish I could take credit for finding it, but Jim March listed it in another thread. It probably goes without saying, but pay very close attention to all the warnings. Most(almost all) of the data is strictly meant for the Rugers.

SECOND HAND

Customer with 45 C 'snake'; great results with (admittedly) heavy ammo (300g Swift A-Frame).

Must have worked; ordered ammo for grizzly hunting.

Caveat: ammo was developed in 5.5" Redhawk.
All my test wheels are Redhawks. I like Redhawks. Possibly I'll collect (more) Redhawks.
Great for IPSC, too.
