An ofter you can't refuse...

Last night I picked up another gun. A friend was thinning his collection and sold me his Valmet M76 .223 folder at the price he got it for. I wasn't really in the market for one, but at $900 with two mags, I just couldn't pass it up. Now to see if I can get some more mags at less than $150 a piece :(

You dirty bastard. I love that rifle and have been kicking myself for not buying one a couple of years ago for $1200. Then, it was the only Valmet not banned in CA. You stole it.

There's an adaptor designed for the .223 Galil that allows you to use M16 magazines. I wonder if it would fit, or could be easily modified to fit, the M76? It isn't cheap at around $100, but could save you tons of money in mags.

There's a company Tromix that converts some East German mags to fit the Valmet M76. He gets $68 per mag. I'm trying to get in touch with them now...

Dunno about the Galil adapter. From what I understand, you can't use Galil mags in the M76, so I suspect the adaptor would have to be modified to get the correct feed angle...

Even with the high cost of M76 mags, I still lust after that thing.

I wonder if that Andrewski guy could make up an adaptor for you? It would probably be expensive, but unique and cool.

Tony from Tromix posts on AR15.com

Tromix is online at http://www.tromix.com

Go to the "Valmet Accessories" page.

Tony's site is hilarious reading. I love text like "Though the wimpy ass CAR collapsible stocks may work fine with your .223 pop gun, the 50AE will auto-collapse your stock in short order." LOL!
