i was talkin to my local pawn shop owner re- someone with a felony (not me)
buying guns. he told me absolutely no felons can buy. he then proceeded to inform me of his own felony conviction in 1967 is preventing him from owning!
yet he's selling, i got an 870 from em.
is he full of s*%T?:confused:

Felons can petition to get their gun rights back. The last time i saw any info on doing that i noticed it cost about 10 grand to do it though. But don't quote me on it.

the tx penal code ch 46 sec 04 says theyre ok to have in the home after 5 yrs from completion of parole or confinement.
but this guy said he couldnt sell a gun to HIMSELF!
sounds weird to me

I thought that the law went as far as prohibiting felons from even owning or touching firearms AND ammo.

I don't know, not a felon (yet :p ).

*Joke = with all the new laws, statues, etc.. coming out of the various governments, it's not that you're (I'm) not a felon but just wait, one day you will wake up and you will be :mad: :(

One of the requirements to get an FFL is that the person:
is not prohibited from transporting, shipping, or receiving firearms or ammunition in or affecting interstate or foreign commerce;

Maybe he has some kind of loophole by using his business entity as the FFL holder? I dunno, I wouldn't think you'd be allowed to touch the stuff period.

Maybe as a previous poster stated.

He petitioned to get the right to deal arms, yet his right to own them has still been kept from him?

Who knows.

was he the owner or an employee?

does a felony conviction prevent you from being employed in any business that deals in firearms and/or ammunition?

would that exclude a person with a felony conviction from working at the local Wallyworld as well, as they sell guns and ammo?
