An easy way to stop whining and do something..

Boycott Colt, Smith and Wessson, this one is mean, that one is anti......

On and on...

I still urge folks to boycott AOL...wonder how many do...

But anyway, ya want a real anti gun bunch...try Google...me, I am using Yahoo (probably no better but hey, one small step at a time)...

So switch your search page and fire of a small email to investor@google.com:

"Please note that in light of your company's censorship policies and political biases, I will no longer use the Google search engine."

Just small steps...

Good point, WildAlaska. Google is decidedly anti-gun. I think a lot of us just get used to using it, and of course there it is, always handy on our pull-down.

I will make a conscious effort to avoid them in the future. :barf:

I avoid them, because their searches are going downhill lately. Out of 100 results anymore, it seems that only maybe 10 or so aren't some sort of spoof page that changes words bsed on what you are searching for, and turns out to be some sort of ad page.

Normally I try to avoid Microsoft like the plague, but search.msn.com is pretty good. Also, if you look on buyblue.org, microsoft is more red than blue.

OK, Wild: I call that and raise you one.

If the Google options already on the table don't do it for you, Try Teoma.

The alternative browsers can be configured for whatever search engine melts your butter. Opera is particularly good in that area.

Here's the raise: Use the Opera browser. I was digging through their downloads and found this "panel":
Gun News
I did not note any attempt at "balancing" the panel with a similar "anti" item. How 'bout that sunshine: I do believe we've actually found a pro-gun browser joint.

Probably not too surprising: they're based in Oslo. I use the paid version of their browser and have a paid subscription to their premium mail service.

I don't use Paypal for anything. And won't bid on anything where Paypal is an option.

AOL is verboton at my workplace and the company buys full Opera licenses for any employee wanting it. I guess that's to be expected when the network admin is an old curmudgeon that developed an interest in custom, semi-ninja BHP's.

Firefox is also good and has Opera beat in that Opera's free version has a not-that-bad banner ad. (not spyware). Opera's 39.00 bucks gives me a warm fuzzy though. What other browser customer support would take time to remind me they can buy silencers over the counter (neener neener).

In a fit of Opera, Teoma, Opera Mail defiance, I'm off to bid on a Ruger... Does the Gunsite Colt come with the series 70 fire control group?

Here's the raise: Use the Opera browser.

I love Opera. But there are two equally good competitors out there that cost $40 less. And I don't like adware at all. SO Opera is pretty much out.

Can't argue with you there - the Opera "pro gun" stance is worth it to me but likely won't be to many.

Sure hope they manage to stay solvent though.

I won't buy new from the following companies:

Glock for adding a lock
Ruger for the lock
Smith and Wesson for the Lock
Rossi for the lock
Taurus for the lock
Colt for being owned by Conneticut

Looks like I'm limited.. wait, I won't buy a new handgun anyways(from a dealer, private party transfers are different..). Fun part is looking through magazines and finding what I like and then thinking to myself, "ahh in another year they will be used and cheap".

Basically, I won't support companies that don't think we are responsible(the lock), and I won't support a government owned company. The ONLY politics I follow when it comes to guns.

Though, I don't mind owning pre lock guns, or guns made before the lock years. I will not own a gun made since locks were used by that company, nor will I EVER own a gun with an integrated lock.'

Other companies I won't buy from:

Microsoft

AOL

Symantec

MacAfee

ANY japanese/eurotrash car or any ford/chevy/whatever with a japanese/eurotrash engine. Gimme a Ford 289 anyday.

Juno/Netzero

Comcast

List goes on and on.. most of these are for quality issues(MS and AOL both suck).

Wish I could get buy with not using google, but I use gmail(and if I sent an email from my gmail addy.. that would look odd/retarded).
