In a previous thread Rugers quality control (or lack of) was the topic. I posted that I had sent them a letter with a link to the discussion. Today I got a reply. Not exactly the reply I was hoping for but a reply none the less.
Copy of my letter:
To Whom It May Concern:
As a long time fan of Ruger firearms it bothers me to see how the quality control of your newly manufactured products seems to be lacking.
I purchased a new SP101 and had to take it back to the dealer four times and exchange it for a new one before I got one that was satisfactory.
Apparently I’m not the only person with these concerns. I’m an avid user of Internet firearms related message boards and chat rooms and the topic of poor quality and problems with new Rugers comes up quite often. If you would like to read an example for yourself, here is a link on one such discussion:

I’m awaiting your reply and will share it with others by posting it on the above forum.

I am sorry th hear that you were not satisfied with the Ruger SP101 that you purchased.
You did not specifically state what problems you had with the revolver that led you to complain about a lack of "quality control" in the manufacture of the gun, so I am unable to address those issues directly. I do wish to assure you however, that we at Sturm, Ruger take pride in our products and quiality control is of utmost (sic) importance to us.
I apologize for any inconvenience your were caused, and want you to know that we stand behind our products. Should ou have any further questions or comments, please feel free to contact me directly.
Very truly yours,
Phyllis S. Garber, Director of Product Relations.
Obviously she did not use the link to read the discussion. Ruger doesn't have e-mail, maybe they don't have internet access??
She did send me a nice cloth Ruger patch to sew onto my range bag or jacket though.
