AMT .40 S&W Backup

Hi guys,

I was offered a chance to buy one of thes brand new still in the original box. I trust the guy who is offering it, but I am wondering what it is worth? Is it any good? I don't expect much in the way of accuracy, but if I could get it for $300 or $400, would it be a good buy?

I don't know much about AMT.

Thanks.

Casey

I don't own one but I was at the range last week and the guy next to me was shooting one in.45acp. That thing jammed at least every other mag.

I've got a .45 backup and I've been shooting it for 2 years and I carry it all day everyday.
I've never had it jam.
I bought it nib at a gun show for $325.

fuente2,

How does it shoot? I realize that yours is in .45 and this is a .40. Is it controllable and fairly accurate, or is it just for close distances?

Thanks.

Casey

these things run the gambit from very reliable to sorry as HE!!. i would not want to put more than 250 to 275 in one as you will be lucky to get that when you sell. i had one in .400 Cor@Bon. a real pocket rocket. trigger was horrible but i could tear up a combat figure at 21 feet. note the name BACKUP. it should not be your primary weapon.
