Amt .380

The AMT pistols are in the process of being resurrected by High Standard, down in Texas. High Standard is already selling some AMT parts, and the complete pistols are expected to hit the market soon.

amt 380

i had one and you have to knock a pin out of it in order to take the slide off.thats the reason i dont own one no more

The DA backup seldom needs to be broken completely down. I did it once in 11 years. Most cleaning can be done without it and I carry mine around my property almost daily and when I workout at night in my driveway. Perhaps I was lucky in that my AMT does not jam and at close range has served to dispatch a couple of snakes. It has proved to be much more reliable than the 2 keltecs I have in recent years purchased. It just weighs a lot more and is thicker.

People say a .380 is not much, but with +P it must be pretty close ballistically to the old .36 navy colt round ball load that was considered adequate for military use at one time.

I have two .380 DAO Backups, and I rarely field strip them. Like the manual says, swab out the barrel, clean out the chamber and breechface and call it good. I do this, hose it out with CRC non-chlorinated Brakleen and give it a good shpritz of Breakfree CLP spray to lube it. My Backup has worked like a charm for me for many years now.
