Looking at a amt .380 dao with serial number DA 34xxx looks very new but has 2 mags that are blued (?) and i can't figure out how to field strip it. it has a $250 price tag . I would like help with birth date, originality of mags , and breakdown procedure ( link to video if possible ) , and is the price decent ? Thanks for your input .---- this is NOT the .380 that the bolt or pin in the top of slide needs to be popped out through the mag housing part of the frame, nor does it have a small notch on the slide to align to a pin in the frame in order for the slide to come out. Thanks for any info

turkeestalker - thanks for the info and your time for replying . Have seen the videos but the manual is a great find -Thanks . Any idea if the mags came with blued type mags or ss or both ? wildbill22

Honestly I don't know for certain. I have two of the older single action types, one in .380 and one in 22LR. The two .380 magazines are silver, not sure if it is nickel or chrome, on the body of them, with the cast finger groove base. The two 22LR magazines that I have are a blued body with the same finger groove base.
You can contact High Standard, not sure how old the pistol is but the magazines that they manufacture for their current production models may be the same as when AMT was cranking them out.
A word of caution, these are known to have issues with feeding and safety. My single action original version proved to be very unsafe but I'm not sure about the DAO version that came out later. Research and see what you are getting into before you buy. The price is good from what I've seen but there are other options out there now in a pocket sized .380 with fewer issues and greater reliability for about the same money. Just do some research and make an educated decision.

You're saying that yours does not have the pin through the frame above the trigger in front of the grip for disassembly like the video I posted shows?
If that actually is the case I'd like to see a photo of both sides of the pistol if you're able and willing to post a couple here.

I would to show you some pics but I did not think to take pics at the gun show. The only thing that looked like a pin to take out was partly showing under the back corner of the grip top edge . The reason I'm looking at this one is because of the one that " got away " from me a couple of years ago - it was a .45 . I do have a LCP.380 but I thought of adding this one to the clan for the hobby of it. As always I appreciate your reply with added advice , Wildbill22

I had one a long time ago ( sorry... don't remember the serial ) I never could get it to work right... even had my builder buddy look at it, & he can do magic with some of the troublesome semi autos... I had 2 magazines... both of mine had stainless bodies, & either clear or light grey plastic floor plate & follower...

it's too bad... I'd like to get one that works, as I have a collection of AMT Automags... all my Automags work great, with no issues... but I've been told AMT function has been pretty spotty across all their products
