Ammunition clips

1) So why does the president always call a magazine a clip?

2) What is he worried about? Are there containers of preban mags waiting to flood the market, that the feds are holding up? It's not like 30 round mags are cheap right now. Last time i looked a 30 round AR mag was 25 bucks.
Assault rifles are seldom used in crime.

Maybe they are worried about the Liberty Tree getting watered...

waddayawannabet there's going to be another "incident" where an assault weapon is the gun de jour? And of course, the perp will be a 12 year old, and he bought the gun at a, what else, a gun show.
Oh yes, and he had hi-cap clips, to borrow an improper term from Premier Klintun, in his assualt of the local Neo-Neanderthal gathering (Rozee O'Downhell parking lot deadication).

"The boy was seen getting out of a plain blue, or brown car shortly before the brutal terrorist attack began. The car has yet to be found."
Unfortunately, the assailant was killed during the attack by an ATF agent who just happened to be there. The agent's statement and identity have been withheld pending notification of the news media.

Best Regards,
Don

The most foolish mistake we could make would be to allow the subjected people to carry arms; history shows that all conquerers who have allowed their subjected people to carry arms have prepared their own fall.

Your quote:
"Maybe they are worried about the Liberty Tree getting watered..."

Of course they're worried. The present and future of "gun control" has one primary objective...to disarm all civilians. However, getting to the point of total disarmament, "they'll" need to make the civilian army (militia) impotent. This is done with the same "boil the frog slowly" tricks as all their other agenda items. Ten round magazines used against a standing army IS impotence. The so-called "smart gun" technology is nothing more than getting Americans conned into having computer chips in their handguns (and eventually all guns). "Smart guns" chips that obey a central computer owned by the federal government I might add.

Think about all the other silly legislation for a moment. No more bayonet lugs? What's that all about? Read my note on civilian impotence above. No flash hiders? What that means, is if you're firing upon a standing army (as a citizen militiaman) they would like to see your muzzle flash as to locate incoming fire in your direction. Collapsible stocks? Any resistance requires discrete infiltrators (ie, hiding a weapon under a coat). Can't do that very easily with a full stock rifle can you? This is the same for "short barreled rifles".

All of the legislation regarding purchasing/carrying/transferring etc. is just to wear us down. To remove what resolve we may have left.

Don't you love this country!

Al Gore was on a fund raising tour in CA this weekend.

On NPR this AM they ran an intro to a speach

Al said he wants to ban assault rifles.

I thought they already banned "assault rifles"- in the early part of the century, when full auto went under strict control.

Now they invent another definition, and ban that too. So what "assault rifles" are they trying to ban now? I have yet to hear this new definition. Any semi-auto rifle with a detachable magazine? Why don't they just admit it?

BTR, in the New American Dictionary (Al Gore version), an "assault rifle" is defined as "anything that looks like a gun."

HTH.

Well, gang.... let's remember that the term 'assault weapon' is being used to confuse the masses. The average Jane and Joe still believe that the media & government are talking about full-auto firearms. Those who know better know that the 'Assault Weapons Ban' only bans semi-auto guns (w/ specific characteristics) manufactured after 9/94.

Hmmmm.... see another 'loophole' forming? How much do you want to bet that this is the direction good ol' Al is heading in? Gee... we have a 'loophole' in the AWB. Let's go after the pre-1994 guns now! Oops! There goes granddad's hunting rifle!

The antis have defined the debate and the rhetoric to such an extent that even many shooters don't have a cluse what they're arguing/talking about.

How many don't even know the difference between a magazine or a clip? And, how many think that the NRA is THE gun lobby?

All pretty good points above & yes, the goal is to totally destroy the "gun culture" to such an extent that is totally unregcognizable. Oh, & getting rid of as many firearms in the bargain, too boot.

& yes, dz, they are worried as well they should be. The Tree is getting very thirsty and their own very policies dry out the roots.
