Ammo

Does any one know a good source to shop for cowboy ammo either online or by mail order? I don't reload. Also what do you think would feed the best in a Winchester Rifle in .357, a 38 or 357 ?

Not a reloader either. I send my brass to www.nationalbullet.com
and have batches made in cowboy 38 special , either 125 grain at 650 fps or 158 grain at 750 fps. Before that I used to buy my cowboy ammo from Houston Cartridge in Conroe, TX. There are many, many cowboy clubs in Texas and they do a lot of reloads. No web page. 1-800-776-6717. 38 sp 158 gr RNFP, #500/$46.95 or #1000/$92.95. Plus shipping. Call and send them a copy of your drivers license with usual statement and then order. If you don't have fax go to a Kinkos or Office Supply and fax from there. I can also recommend Georgia Arms Co. Don't know their web page address.
I was very satisfied with that cowboy ammo also.

Howdy Jeffly,

Due to differences in overall length, some rifles have trouble feeding the .38s. This seems to not only dependent on the type of rifle, but the particular rifle being used. The only way to tell for sure is to just try some .38s in your rifle and see if they feed. If they don't,a good gunsmith should be able to adjust the gun so it will feed both .357s and .38s.
