Ammo Rations?

Went to local Academy yesterday for something else, thought what the heck, see if the ammo panic buying is subsiding....

No, shelves are empty, but get this, there are signs on the shelves that read that they DO have ammo, it is at the customer service counter, and they are limiting how much you can buy per day (Still selling out daily, have to get there early).

Checking drivers licenses at the purchase, and people are waiting an hour before the store opens to get in line for their daily purchase quotas!

Anyone else seeing anything like that around your neck of the woods?
I cannot believe all of the panic buyers are not all stocked by now and the increased production is not catching up, what gives?

Employees selling on the black market?

Though it seems like a pain in the ass to have limited ammo sold at one time it is probably better so that a lot of folks can at least have some available. It also keeps re-sellers from diving in and depleateing everything from a store at one time.

The walmarts near me have a one box per caliber sign up, but it only applies to common calibers they have listed. You could still buy as many shot shells as you wanted. Gander mountain has no limit, but they only have odd ball rifle calibers, shotgun shells, and .40 S&W in stock.

LGS had .22 and 9mm in stock yesterday but a 2 box limit. It was 8:45 in the am too so gotta get there early.

This is nothing new. We went through the same thing back in 2009. Some learned their lesson, others didn't.

I've gone to Walmart at 6:30 in the morning for the last 3 days now and will continue to do so everyday until I get a day off from work. So far the lat 3 days I've been sorely disappointed... The shelves have been bare every time. I don't know if people are getting there at 5 in the morning or if Wally world just isn't getting the same amount in stock that they use to but it's stating to tick me off.

I just don't think Walmart is getting regular shipments the way gun shops do. Does anyone know how often their ammo come in?

God bless my .22s

I made it a point in my collection to have a .22 caliber version of everything I like to shoot. (bolt, lever, AR, pistol, revolver etc.) and plenty of .22 to tide me over during these bumps in the road. Paid off during the last panic, paying off in spades this panic.
