Ammo Question

Hoping to go hunting this winter with my SKS. Would appreciate help in selecting the better choice of ammo. Hollow point or soft point I don't think solid would work as well. But then thats why I'm asking because I don't know.

Hiya Curly

Do NOT use solid FMJ ammo for hunting, not effective or ethical.

Hollowpoint is no good. Its not really made for hunting, and what happens is your jacket separates from the core, and theres no real expansion, let alone reliable expansion.

A good Soft point is the way to go for a 7.62x39. A couple of good manufacturers make them. Dont get the wolf or tula stuff.

Good Luck Hunting!

Hunting what

I'm currently in So. Tex. and hoping to find somewhere to go hog hunting without it costing a small fortune. Possibally some deer. With the problem that hogs are in this part of the country you would think people would like to have help in eliminating the things.
