Ammo question

I have been looking into lighter Ammo options for my .44 and ran across the Grizzly Cartridge Co online.
What do you all think about a .44 special with a 260 grain flat point going at 950 fps for trail ammo where there are no Grizzly bear to come across. Would that do for black bear and mountain lions?

Thanks

I think it would do for GRIZZLY if you know where to put the bullet!

Sure, you're well defended with that combo, and it should take deer nicely to at least 50 yards.

Get a copy of, "Sixguns" by the late Elmer Keith. It will bolster your confidence in .44 Special and .45 Colt loads in that power range. Keith even cited the case of one fellow who used a Colt SAA .45 with a load about like that and dropped a grizzly with one shot, under the chin as the bear stood facing him. (Probably broke its neck.)

That bullet has a lot of penetration.

That's a very potent load and should go completely through most animals and do lots of damage as it goes through.
