Viewed your web site and see that you have a little experience relating to guns, law enforcement, etc.

Have you taken a look at the new Hornady Critical Defense ammo? I'm wondering about how well it might be suited for self-defense for the typical, non-LE, citizen type. My sidearm is a 9mm, compact. Would appreciate any input on self-defense ammo.

Thanks

Sorry It has taken so long to reply

I haven't looked into it as most of my ammo is either issued by the P.D. or S.D. other than that which I bought from the P.D. as rangemaster for a small local P.D. after retiring from my P.D. Most of my Defense ammo is:
.357sig-Speer L.E. 125 Gold dots,
.38spl-Federal +P+ 110gr JHP,
.357Mag-WW125jhp,
9mm-Winchester RangerL.E. +P+124 jhp and Speer Gold dot 124gr
.40-Winchester Ranger 180gr SXT and Speer 165gr Gold Dot both L.E. loads
.45auto Winchester Ranger 230gr SXT
Not knowing your pistol I wouldn't reccomend using +P+ ammo in it but most of the major ammo makers S.D. rounds are good rounds Gold Dot is one of many

These rounds have worked well so I am confident with them The .38 spl as you probably saw on my site worked flawlessly against an attacker stopping just under the skin on his back without exiting and opening to .612 on a micrometer. The coroner was a lodge buddy of my father and after lodge he gave the slug to my dad and said here your kid may want this and walked off.

Hope this helped a little
