While waiting for my new Marlin to arrive, I found a good deal on .38 cal FMJRN on the internet. Went ahead and ordered the ammo before I got the gun. Upon receiving the rifle I read in the owner's manual that using certain types of FMJ in this rifle could be dangerous as the rounds could be triggered while in the magazine.Checked with the ammo mfg. but they couldn't or wouldn't say it was safe to use. Can't contact Marlin cause I get home too late from work to call.
Has anyone had any experience using this type of cartridge in this rifle?
Thanks in advance for your help.

If you are going to use jacketed material, it must have a flat point, preferably made of lead. If the point is to sharp and or hard, it could ignite the magazine with the recoil. The best bullets are flat pointed lead solids.
