Ammo for .454 Casull

Posted another before I saw this..

Would suggest against Hornady...refer to my post.

Recoil is QUITE sharp. We also used hot 45 LC loads and they make a nice "between" load. Lots of power and not brutal. Handloading they cost 12 cents each.

I also suggest against Hornady, UNLESS you have a very tightly chambered custom Ruger, or a Freedom Arms. Brass is just too soft.

Buffalo Bore makes some very good ammo, based on Starline brass. Cor-Bon is making some awesome stuff, but beware the hottest Penetrator rounds, they are beginning to demolish guns...not from blow ups, just too much power. This is the word fro several custom smiths as of late.

If you start handloading, you'll be able to afford shooting it much more.

I second Steve. Any of the "magnum" or 40+ caliber pistol ammo can be loaded for 1/4-3/4 of the price of buying. (Depending on what you load).
