ammo feed

I have a gun that I have not fired. My concern is the feed of the ammo into the chamber. It seems to me that the front (projectile end) of the bullet does not raise enough in the clip to enter the chamber smoothly. Will the ramp take care of my concern? Or do I go to a range & try it?

I have a gun

Kind of like saying "I have a car". In order to help, we would need a whole lot more info. As to trying it, you have nothing to loose. Load the mag and either rack the slide or hit the slide release (depending on what your particular gun needs) and see if a round chambers. Then shoot it to see if the entire mag chambers correctly.

yes, model of gun, type of ammo being fed, and possibly a picture of the loaded mag(not in the gun) so we can see if it's normal or an out of spec magazine.

The only real test of any Ammo. in any given firearm,is how well it preforms when being fired. You must test all Ammo. in all your firearms.

Is there a reason to think the rounds might not feed, like the magazine is not the right one or appears to be defective? If not, the easy way is to fire the gun and see what happens.

Not trying to insult anyone’s intelligence, but test cycle your handgun in a safe place, with the muzzle pointed in a safe direction, such as a shooting range. I know a guy that bought a used pistol and he seemed to think it had problems similar to what the OP described. The pistol discharged in his living room. He was home alone at the time, wife and kids were shopping. Recovered the bullet in his basement. Be safe!
