Ammo choice

I have a Beretta 3032 (.32 auto) that I carry. I'm looking at the different types of ammo for it. I'm down to the Winchester Silvertip and the Federal Hydra-shok. The Hydrashok has the better numbers, (ftlbs/fps) but I don't like the flatnose design. I've fired Silvertips with no problem, but with Fiocchi JHP rounds I get alot of feedjams (about 1-2 per box). I have no problem with Fiocchi FMJ though. The numbers for the Fiocchi are much higher but I won't carry them because of the problems I've had with them. I'm afraid that because my pistol has the problems with the Fiocchi's It'll have the same problem with the Hydrashoks. Has anyone here had this problem with flat nosed JHP in automatics before?

32's are notorious for ammo feed problems unless you stick with FMJ's. Don't risk carrying a "maybe" round. Go woth what is proven in that gun.

DO NOT be misled into thinking that you have to carry a hollow point bullet. In one sense, IMO, with such a small caliber the FMJ will have better penetration anyway.

Whatever you choose, shoot a full 150-200 rounds WITHOUT ANY FAILURES before you consider the ammo "reliable".

Used winchester silvertips in my tomcat and had no feed problems at all.If I still had the 32 I think I would alternate silvertips and FMJ.Might be a good combo.
I sold mine and went a USED S&W M 36.Wanted a little more power and peice of mind with the 38.

The number one priority is for 100% reliability, so I'd start by picking ammo that meets that standard. The Silvertips probably have a better chance, since they are a very similar profile to hardball.

Haven't tried the CorBons, but Silvertips have been dead-bang reliable in my Tomcat. Seem to have as good a 'street rep' as one can expect for a .32. My Tomcat makes a swell backup gun, no heavier or bulkier than a spare mag for a real pistol (and much more useful than a second spare mag if the 'real pistol' is broken, snatched, jammed, or dropped) and for those times when I just can't conceal a gun, the Tomcat's the next best thing...
