American Spirit Arms

Hey guys,

Just wanted to pop in to say that I checked out the new American Spirit Arms shop and production facility during lunch today. Their new location is literally right across the street from my office, so a coworker and I popped over to check it out.

The new store-front is about 5 times the size of the old one. They are still settling in to the new location and whatnot, but they had plenty of their rifles on display. I'm already relatively familiar with their products, so I just did a quick browse around and chatted with a couple of the employees. One of the guys offered to give us a tour of the manufacturing facility in back.

Everything is made in-house. The shop is clean and well laid out. The receivers are all milled. Everything is made in house, including the barrels. I'm going to talk to them about possibly doing some blog/video reviews.

Just wanted to give a little bit of good press since these guys were so cool. Makes me want to build one of their guns.

I built my first AR on an ASA lower. Its been running a long time,I'm happy.I just rec'd an ASA bcg.Other bcg's were out of stock. The ASA is advetised as mil-spec,Carpenter 158 bolt, pressure and mag particle inspected, and shot peened.Carrier bore is hard chrome. The staking has caused a little bit of high spot to dress off.It was $145.
I didn't bother to see if it was blessed by any gooroos. My rifle will probably be an uncool range toy unfit for serious use.Ha ha ha ha.
It will have a Colt upper,a DD hammerforged, chrome lined S2W 18 in bbl,YHM diamond mid length forend. This one will get a 4x ACOG.It will start as an upper, the parts will be here Wed.(except the ACOG,<$ for now.)Temporarily,I will make do with a VX3 2.5-8 mildot that is resting.
Oh,wait,it MIGHT be cool, because I ordered a Noveske charging handle.
ASA hasgiven me good, friendly service, and it shipped same day.
