American Mark V's

Any experiences here with the new American made mark v weatherby? Is it a quality piece with fitment and accuracy to match the price tag? Im interested in the fibermark.

In my experience there isn't a bad Mark V, whether its German, Japanese or US in origin.. The fit and finish on the current models is excellent.. I've been looking at adding a fibermark in .340 to the stable..

They are nice rifles, quite possibly some of the best Mark Vs ever built. I think Claro walnut is not suitable for stocks in heavy recoiling rifles, but for the Fibermark that's not an issue. They typically shoot very well if you can.

Not many for sale on GB are they limited stock everywhere, or are they available through a particular store?

From what I have seen, they are not quite as accurate as the Japanese Mark V's. High quality rifles no doubt. I still have a stash of the Japanese built Weathermarks that I am robbing actions off of. I paid less than $500 each for them. I bought them just for the actions. The price point of the Japanese rifle vs the price point of the American rifle made the Japanese rifle the far superior rifle in my humble opinion.
