For those of you who subscribe to American Handgunner Magazine … just received my March/April 2008 issue.

Check out page 12, letters to the editor section, a letter entitled “Hug? What?” for a great story regarding Al Gore. Pretty dang funny … about fell off my chair.

For those that don't subscribe ... let me see if I can get permission from the editor to post. I didn't want to take liberties with material he may view as having a copyright.

Hug? What?
Living in Florida now for 25 year I was shocked recently to be seated next to former VP Al Gore on a flight to Palm Beach. Most American’s don’t know this, but Mr. Gore routinely travels business class on scheduled flights. He travels with no secret service agents because an entourage would increase the use of carbon fuels. I wondered how the former VP could travel like this without being noticed; he told me that he is able to move about in public with no trouble because nobody recognizes him.

Now it seemed to me it would be pretty dangerous for a former VP to travel around the country without secret service escorts. You will be surprised to know Mr. Gore was licensed in Florida to carry a concealed weapon back in 2000 (while here on business). He told me he prefers the new Kel-Tec PF-9 because it is thinner than the Kahr PM9 and does not print under his coat. He also said the Kel-Tec is easier to clean when he is done at the range. Anyway, I would not have believed it but this really happened to me.

From the editor:
Just so you know, this was Mark’s entry into our “Best Bull” story. He had me going there for a minute though, and my ire was up and cranking. Then he let me in on the secret. I’m printing this to let you know I had such a great response to my request for your best bull, I’m extending the deadline, so fire away. I may get arrested when I print ‘em, so come visit me in prison, will ya? Editor
