Did I miss something or what? On tonight's episode he was showing the different guns to the Nascar driver. When the guy said he wanted all seven guns, Wyatt quoted a price of $28000. That comes to a whopping $4000 a piece! Nothing that I saw would indicate any of those guns being even close to that value. Where in the world did he come up with that number?

Missed that part I changed the channel when they started talking about installing an ax head on the end of a musket or something like that.

I haven't seen the episode in question. I tried watching an episode from the new season and couldn't make it through the first half hour. It seems they made some changes and added more infighting between the gunsmiths. Nothing installs confidence in your custom shop like a bickering staff of gunsmiths.

more TV garbage and a disservice to gun owners. Acting like a-holes is the new "in" thing. Who would ever buy a gun from these companies?? Can we show a normal shop and actually learn something?????
I don't think you'd see guys like Barrett cashing in on this reality TV BS

Wasn't Barrett one of the customers of the kids engraving in one show? Yeah, the show is pretty lame. I'm waiting for the directors to dump the rest of the bunch and just have the daughter star. She seems to be the reason most guys watch it anyway.

I believe he gets prices based on blue book value, recent auctions, market demand and out of his own buttocks.

Yeah, every one must have been a one off custom.
It's probably all scripted bs.
Right after the cameras stop, everyone gives everything back, and goes home with what they came with.

DVR'd last nights episode and watched it this morning. They ended up agreeing on 25k. Of the guns I saw in the assortment one was a .357 magnum revolver, a mossberg shotgun I believe and a leveraction Marlin, not sure of the caliber. There is no way those guns are worth $3500 a piece. If Regan Smith spent that much on those guns, well you know what they say about a fool and his money. Just finding it a little hard to believe he would blow money like that.

The more I watch this show, I'm less likely to have anything done by them.

Let's review:

The customers are not real.
The deals are not real.
The prices are not real.
Nobody in their right mind would fly a helicopter to buy a few guns.
The fighting between the gunsmiths is made up and poorly acted.
Targets don't always explode.

Did I miss anything?

And I'm not sure if those are really his kids.

I was thinking the same thing when I heard the price he wanted. Any of the reality gun shows like this one are getting pretty lame and their always has to be drama going on for some reason, thats not even entertaining. The girls on that show have some long necks too; kinda weird lol. guess I will have to go back to watching hunting shows for my firearm entertainment although they arent much better.

I thought it was hilarious when Rich Wyatt said he knew he had Regan Smith reeled in when Regan's wife was really impressed with the Pump Action shotgun. Rich interpreted that to mean she was so in love with the Mossberg Pump action shotgun that Regan would have to pony up $25000 to buy the whole collection to get his wife that precious and much sought after Mossberg 500. Of course he could pick up the same gun at Walmart for $300.
I also think it's funny that Rich Wyatt always brings along a sweetener such a as gold or silver bauble. They portray gun owners like they are a squirrel that is attracted by shiny things. Or maybe they are simple like Gomer Pyle.
"Gawleeee Mr. Wyatt, iz dat reeeeal silver?" Like a $200 silver bar will induce someone the sell a gun collection for $2000 less.

I wish I could sue this show in order to get them to stop using my name for their store. They're all pathetic and make all gun owners look like morons. The so called gunsmiths shouldn't be allowed to touch a gun, or any machine for that matter. During some past times I've forced myself to watch this garbage in order to see some guns I liked, but the brain freeze pain just doesn't seem worth it. His son's engraving skills belong in a penny arcade and he has the personality of a slug. Maybe if more stop watching someone may have the sense to pull the plug on it.

The prior episode with the Ar10. They wanted 10k for a white ar10 with an m203 (or similar) and a scope........Whiskey Tango Foxtrot

Then I saw yesterday's episode, regan will prolly be putting rich in the wall next time he sees him on the road.

Although they seemed fake I did appreciate them bringing the crying truckers dad in to give him the rifle.

I've been DVR-ing it, but it's just getting more stupid each and every episode.

That "head" gunsmith is a wimp, they have fat boy, who's sitting 90% of the time as this seasons drama queen, that other goof as the **** stirrer, and made up ridiculous gun deals.

Ralph S has it.
And the helicopter is not his.

Consider also that the helicopter saves zero time in transit to a buy or sale scene since the on-site segments can't be taped until the crew with the camera & sound equipment gets there anyway, and you can bet money the production company isn't going to spring for TWO helicopters.

This show, just like Sons of Guns, Moonshiners, the new Biker Gang show, and most of American Chopper, is entirely scripted. As RalphS said:

Discovery has basically shifted from an educational type channel to a purveyor of prime-time soap operas. Just look at Moonshiners. Do you honestly believe that anyone in their right mind would let a camera crew film them making and selling moonshine, when it's illegal? Or how about the new biker gang show? I haven't even watched an episode but I can tell that its pure BS. It's all fiction, but portrayed in a manner to make people believe that it's all real.

I always find it funny when people say they wouldn't buy any of Red Jacket's firearms because of what they see on the TV show.
