Is it just me or are the shows geared toward gun buyers and enthusiasts seem totally off base and real. Now I know it television, scripted and played up for ratings but really 18k for a custom Winchester lever action or 1500 for a painted m&p with a trigger job. I mean do the producers really take us for idiots? It seems it could be realistic yet dramatic. And let's not even get me going on sons of guns. So is it just me?

Getting too old for reality T.V. ???

So is it just me?
Hard to express and understand my reaction but no, it's not just you or at least, I'm throwing in with you. When top shot was first advertised, I thought that might be pretty neat and don't get me wrong, I have to give credit where credit is due but I really don't get that much out of these shows. I'm glad they are on to show our gun interest but I'd rather wath Pawn Stars. ... ;)

Be Safe !!!

Nope, not just you. I was actually watching American Guns when the were building an AR with a grenade launcher on it. When the woman fired it and it sounded like a bottle rocket taking off I couldn't help but laugh. Turned it off and have never watched another show.

Search the forum and you'll find your in the clear majority.

Reality TV will always be about 99% TV and 1% reality.

No, you aren't the only one. The commentators for a NASCAR race were actually joking American Guns the other day after episode aired that featured a NASCAR driver paying Rich $25,000 for 7 guns, which didn't appear to add up to $7,000 total.

I know these shows about pawnshops/storage lockers/lost baggade/gunshops are usually a bit on the generous side with value of the items they feature, but American Guns brings that to a whole new level. One would think Rich is dealing in pesos instead of dollars.

American Guns

Add in the amount the networks are paying these guys, they shouldn't be charging anyone. I bet the customers get their work done for free instead of being payed by the network. And have you noticed, these guys were driving trucks like ours last season, and now they're all sportin' new Chevy trucks. Which also advertises on the show. And I bet any gun they buy from the clients are payed for by the network as well.
