It's interesting you bring up American Ammunition. I bought 500 rounds of that stuff several years ago at a gunshow. I've shot up probably about 300 rounds, and hadn't dug it out until recently.
When I was shooting a new 9mm that I just got, I took a number of different samples of 9mm ammo, including some of the AA stuff to the range. The AA ammo feels SIGNIFICANTLY hotter than any other standard 9mm ammo, including S&B and Fiocchi, both of which tend to be loaded a bit hotter than ammo made in the US. I've stopped shooting the stuff, but I'm going to shoot a couple more rounds, when I have my chrony at the range, just to see what's going on.
I do have a recommendation, based on what I already know. STAY AWAY from American Ammunition. Another problem that it has is the brass sucks for reloading, yet another reason to avoid it.
