No surprise here. Tommy-boy Mauser stuck it to Colorado. I heard him on KOA radio tonight where he was asked (and I'm going by memory only, but here's the gist of it) what was next? He kind of sidestepped the issue (surprise! honesty has never been the anti-gunners' forte) and said something to the effect that he'll see, and that this was a FIRST STEP to stopping 30,000 deaths a year (where'd that figure come from?).

Sounds like we'll be hearing from this clown in colorful Colorado in the years to come. Come and get 'em, Tommy-boy.

P.S. I am truly sorry about the death of his son, but no matter what he does, nothing will bring him back. He's a sadly-misguided man in need of grief counseling.

Reading "Capitalism: The Unknown Ideal," by Ayn Rand, should be required of every politician and in every high school.

"Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are ruined."

Let me point out again Mr. McCain's (I no longer consider this dog my Senator) complicity in this 'gun show loophole' charade.

For those TFL friends who were McCain supporters, I encourage you to continue viewing this statist with suspicion and caution. He is, indeed, a RINO dog.

My condolences to our friends in Colorado.

Regards from AZ

Everyone should thank the NRA
for helping to get this 'gunsafety'
measure passed to help criminals
guns bought at shows by criminals.
As Heston put it -most guns are bought
through federal gun registering gun dealers
why shouldnt all guns be registered before
sold to a buyer-
Well thats what I heard him say.
And you actually think their fighting for you
and will continue to support them and wonder years later why were still losing.

You are entitled to your opinion, ruger45, but your above statement is incorrect.

The NRA was against Amendment 22. A quote from their website.

quote:
Don't be fooled! Protect our Freedom—Vote "NO" on Amendment 22. Get involved in the fight to defeat this Clinton-Gore inspired attack on legitimate gun shows. Volunteer to help spread the word. Call Common Sense Colorado at (720) 283-1376. Still looking for that quote from Heston...

Help STOP criminals buy guns
heehee
One state at at time under one huge traitor.
Send em some money to help 'protect'
your rights.

Mabye your right BLUESMAN I may have just read it wrong, one of many times I want to be wrong. All of the below I posted on another site about a month ago.
If they did change their stance I think its about like their lobbying for Bush in PA.
a bit late, but what can I do I guess that
theirs nothing else we can do but hit them hard when the NRA-we find out its going to be a swing/battleground state.
Do you also deny that the NRA as he brings out has supported the instachecks for ALL
individuals on a federal level at gunshows.
Ya know their instacheck versus the 3 day thing.--------

Thats the AP's usual BS.
When Colorado was in the national media light they may have opposed the measure but now that the focus is gone so is the NRA's defense.
See below

This is amazing! I never would have believed it could happen!

Subject: Heston voices support for SAFE
Priority: normal

Hardly a day goes by that the NRA doesn't end up agreeing with the anti-gun
crowd (Project Gestapo being the chief instance) but rarely does the NRA
allow this to become public knowledge.

In the October issue of Outdoor Life, NRA President Charlton Heston put
Colorado gun owners out to dry by supporting the concept of SAFE's anti-gun
ballot initiative.

RMGO Executive Director Dudley Brown learned about the article after being
blind-sided by a reporter, who claimed anyone opposing SAFE's ballot
initiative was clearly out of the mainstream since Charlton Heston, Tom
Mauser AND Sarah Brady agreed on the issue.
To see the entire article, go to: http://www.outdoorlife.com/sportsmansissues/olhestonbrady.html

"1. Do you support mandatory background checks for anyone purchasing
firearms at gun shows?
Heston: Yes. Sixty percent of sales at gun shows are by licensed firearms
dealers and already go through the instant background check. Last year, the
NRA supported legislation to extend instant background checks to the
remainder of sales at firearm shows, just like those done at gun stores
today. But at the urging of Bill Clinton and Al Gore, the Democratic
leadership in the U.S. House defeated the background check bill, sponsored
by pro-gun Congressman John Dingell (D-Mich.)."

Some blind loyalists of the NRA claimed it was an old interview, and that
Heston was taken out of context. In fact, several tried to physically bully
RMGO board member Tom Minsel last weekend when Minsel was handing out copies
of the article. Minsel, however, was practicing confrontational politics at
its best by arming himself with facts and boldly standing his ground.
But RMGO staff talked to Outdoor Life Associate Editor Scott Bowen on Sept.
20 to determine the origin of Heston's comments.
Bowen said OL sent both Heston and Brady a list of questions in early
September of this year. Heston's comments were indeed his own, and official
statements of the NRA.

Some readers might want to know what is gained by "inside bickering." But
every gun rights activist, especially NRA members, should know what the NRA
-- which has been dubbed "Too Afraid to Fight" for their lack of intestinal
fortitude -- is doing with their dues, and their soapbox.

liberty for security deserve neither"

RMGO (of Colorado)has this posted on their website pherphaps the NRA should tell them their wrong we'll see soon Ive emailed them and included this discussion address.
Itd be terrible if we actually relied on a group from the state instead of our national leader known for its compromises.
But as you said just my opinoin.

A million mommie socialist dogooder just had to come by my store and, on the way out, make a gloating, smiling, comment about "gun control passed".

Grrrrrrrrrr

Gotta keep my mouth shut before I do or say something stupid.

Above million mommie really is a socialist do gooder who runs a grant-funded, tax-subsidized social "service" organization to take care of the disadvantaged.

Grrrrrrrr

RMGO has already announced to media they are fighting the passage of Amendment 22 as unconstitutional to our state constitution with a lawsuit in state court system. It will be in court for at least one or two years. That means amend 22 will probably be in limbo (re:injunction against enforcement) until it's heard at State Supreme Court level, then it MAY go all the way to US Supreme Court (only if Amend 22 gets past state SC and only if GWB is elected). My .02!

Well, when they come to me to defend their sorry A$$es after Yasser desides he wants to own some ski resorts, I'm going to sit back, enjoy a margarita on the lawn chair.

F*#$-EM if they ever want me to defend them again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GOA has repeated asked members to send money
to GOA?? to fight this amendment
NO to RMGO in colorado to help fight this amendment and they will likely later ask us to support their legal battle.
And the NRA has .......proven that their
president doesnt have a fuxxking clue what
they are or are not supporting.
Or could these varying stance all be well known to the actual leaders of the NRA and their just changing according to the climate?
