Ambi-safety would not engage....

This is the third time in about 100 that the safety on my BHP would not budge ON.


Just totally locked. When I place hammer down and reset it, the safety worked fine. On and off. on and off ad naseum with no other malfunction.


If it wont swipe ON at times, does that mean that at some point it might not swipe OFF?


Thoughts?
 
Curious if it's factory ambidextrious or some aftermarket. The factory is perhaps the simpliest. Either way, it should be checked for burrs.

If its aftermarket, does it refuse to engage if the safety walks slightly (safety on right side of frame comes loose)?

Definitely take it back to the gunshop and have it fixed under warranty. BTW, moving to Smithy.
