Am I wearing my holster properly?

Carry it where it's comfortable and where you can get to it quickly and easy. Remember, concealment is a compromise. You want to hide it, but not bury it so you can't get to it quickly.

If that's a comfortable position and a quick draw for you then you're fine :)

You'll probably find. as I did, that it takes some experimentation to find the best location. I finally settled on 3:30 - 4:30 o'clock.

The fit of the belt loops to the belt can make quite a difference. I did not get along with my IWB holster until I had my local cobbler make a new belt loop that snugly fits my belt. I went from a loose, inconsistently located carry to one that stays put and presents the gun in the same place and angle all the time: a major and, according to many, crucial improvement. Your rig appears as though it might benefit somewhat from the same approach, though a two outboard loop holster does not suffer from loose loops as much as a single centered loop holster.

I have settled on a 3:30-4:00 o'clock position as my best compromise between comfort, accessibility, and concealment. I also have found I am wearing my belt slightly higher than before.

The holster

looks normal. But how is it with the gun in it? Pics of the full rig would probably give a better idea as to how well it rides. But as said above, how it feels to you is the important thing. Where we all wear ours are dependent on our individual bodies, many of which are, how shall I put this, more subcutaneously endowed than your own.

I agree, if it feels comfortable then you are doing it right. Looks fine to me. It does help me to attach the holster to a belt loop so it doesn't slide around and gives the same draw presentation each time. I notice that Lee Jeans have loops at 3:00, 4:30, and 6:00 while Levis only have a single belt loop at about 3:15 and 6:00. I buy Lee's for the loops as well as the fact that Levi-Strauss is anti-gun. For non-jeans, usually I look for pants that have the belt loops in the right place for me.

Well, I've got one holster that happens to be left-handed. Maybe that's why I got it for seven bucks. It works well enough for a righty -- grab the pistol and put it in the right hand. My left hand isn't good for much more than making my body symetrical.

Whatever is comforable and concealable. I personally like 2:30 to 3:00 but my body is, shall we say, much thicker than yours (read spare tire). One thing I have found increases comfort that you may find useful: wear one of those thin muscle shirts between the gun/holster and your body to keep the rig from rubbing and irritating your skin.

You may try tightening the belt and wearing your trousers above your briefs. That vertical is near the widest point on your hip--and it just seems really loose.

Looks good to me - as long as it draws quickly and fairly easily. If it doesn't, a thicker & stiffer belt would be in order to keep it in place during the draw.

Wait til we get our Hanes on the net!

As skinny as you are you are going to have a hard time hinding much more than a NAA Mini on your hip. As long as it is comfortable then you are ok. Back when I was skinnier I would move mine around further towards my back pocket. It worked better for me. Like stated before, pull up your pants and tighten your belt. This will but the majority of the guns weight abov your hips and your hips will help carry the load better.

First, are you meaning in the mid section or up top? :D

empyre, as long it works for you you are pretty much good to go. A nice belt is a must, they can make the world of difference. I also like a light cotton undershirt (full or A depending) to go between the holster and me.

This is exactly why I have never ound a IWB holster that I found comfortable for daily carry. I suppose if you weren't so skinny it may feel better, with me it always felt like it was digging into my hip bone. Is there a reason why you chose a IWB verses a Pancake or similar holster?
