am i totally insane???

not crazy, just confused, man!

Keep the Kimber, and get the Glock too!

And I must say you have excellent taste in firearms... 1911's and Glocks are the only two handguns worth a hoot!

hehehe. i like your sense of humor. besides, no mental health professional has ever diagnosed me as "insane" except for the wife:D

I can only compare the Kimber Ultra Carry to my Kimber Compact Custom which is an awesome pistol. I gave $525 for it with three magazines. If you feel comfortable with cocked and locked carry go for it.

I paid about $475 for my Glock 30 and I really like it. My Glock 30 is accurate and reliable; its only negative it is a little chunky like its owner.

Regards,

Richard

While I am very much a Glock guy, I have never developed much love for the G30. I am amazed by that, since my G21 is my favorite gun. Go figure.

MARRIED MAN'S LAMENT

Regardless of finances, suggest NOT selling Kimber. Save, and add other gun(s) later.

Experience teaches us to NEVER EVER sell any gun (one minor exception; you may sell POS's).

I agree...I have traded a couple of guns in my day and you will often come to miss what you traded off. You may not regret the trade, but you will wish you had just bought the new one and kept your old one.

My wife doesn't care what I buy either. (The fact she doesn't read my posts doesn't influence them either. She just doesn't care as long as I follow the rules.)

The rules.

1. NO SELLING GUNS.

2. every Dollar I spend on fun, she gets one dollar for Fun. (Makes those $500 pistols $1000 for me... but worth every penny. Of course the reverse is also true...)

I suggest not selling one gun to buy another. Shoot the one you have, while saving up enough to buy the second. ( I understand tight finances, REALLY I do, We have a 2year old and a 2 month old. BUT I am NOT selling guns. BUY more? Not right now, but never sell.)

I sold my Taurus PT-945 so I could get my AR-15. At the time I had a G30 so I figured I didn't need another 45. Plus I was having problems with it. I ended up taking it in the shorts though. I paid $400 for the 945 but sold it for $350 which included Custom grips($40), 3 mags($80) and a Galco Scout IWB holster($50).

I really wanted the AR-15 but to this day I regret getting rid of my 945. If I could find it and buy it back I would. I loved that damn gun. :(

I am a Glock fool, but I have always wanted a Kimber. If I were you, I would save up and have them both. I love my G30 and would never part with it or any of my other toys (since my 945 mistake).

I agree with all who says "never sell a gun".

As someone said before, if you absolutely hate the Kimber a trade is ok. The thing is, if you bought the Kimber in the first place it's unlikely you hate the gun. You're probably just looking for something different. Like the girl you shouldn't of dumped, you'll regret trading your Kimber.

If you're trading to a dealer/retailer expect to trade at a loss, which sucks. I've regreted every gun trade or sell I've ever made, except the Ruger P85 I was lucky enough to ditch. Put a jar next to your bed and save your pocket change to put towards your "Hubby needs a Glock fund".

My advice,

don't sell your guns. I've sold a few guns over the years, (I just sold my Les Baer Premier II, ****, what was I thinking???) and everytime I've regretted it...

If any of you see an ad from me in the future selling one toy to buy another, kick me! ;-)

Save up, it's worth it...

I agree with those who say don't sell or trade. I just bought my 3rd pistol in August, and have been eating nothing but spaghetti and beans for the last month so I could buy an AR-15 (I'm still waiting for it to arrive.) I just can't part with any of my gun friends. I know I would miss them way too much. Save up for the Glock 30 and keep the Kimber!
