Hey good people:

For all you people out there who might be interested,,,
There is a place in Michigan called Duncan Customs.

They sell aluminum castings of handguns to people who make holsters,,,
Or use them for other purposes.

I have purchased several of their Dummy Guns,,,
To form the leather in the holsters I make.

One man I made several holsters for has purchased these dummy guns,,,
Polished and smoothed the casting marks on the aluminum,,,
Then painted the guns to use for display of the holster.

Dummy guns are $45.00
Dummy magazines are $12.00

Anyways, I've been dealing with these people for years,,,
Never had a problem with an order from them.

I though some of you might be interested in their products.

It’s not only all that work carving out the wooden model, it’s also having to buy the real gun in order to have a model to make the wooden model from.

I don't know who makes them, but there are some pretty good plastic copies around for holster display, though they wouldn't stand up to use in actual holster making, which is pretty rough on those aluminum dummies.

Needless to say, using either as a "pretend" gun would not be very wise; the other guy might have a real one.
