Alternatives to the HK USP9 compact?

Hey guys!

I am ready to purchase a compact 9mm semi-auto. I have been considering an HK USP9c as I already own the USP45f so the manual of arms would be the same.

Any other suggestions?

Berreta, Sig and Glock come to mind? Which models?

I am not looking for a teensy-weensy gun but I do want a comfortably concealable compact.

Any input is appreciated!

The USP's are FAT guns. So are Glocks and Sigs.
A CZ75 compact will be a little thin.
How about a Browning HiPower? They are quite thin and so is a 1911.
Of course there is nothing wrong with the USP compact either.

Alternatives ?

I believe there to be no Alternative to an hk pistol.

The USP9c would be great being that you already own an HK and why not have a Compact ?

I own Each handgun that HK makes and have had no misfires with any.I like the USP9C so much i just bought 2 more 1 in SS and one just like my first BLACK .

You cant go wrong with Either Glock Or Hk but i believe you will be very happy with the usp9c

Later

:) :D

Keep in mind that the P7 has a flaw: It gets so hot after about 50 rounds that you literally can't hold it. If you plan to do a lot of paper punching with it, I'd avoid it. If not, the P7 is a great gun. I love my P7M13 (other than the broken extractor which is getting repaired by HK as we speak). Also, it's a lot heavier than the polymer guns, and slightly heavier than most metal framed guns.

Walther P99 and Glock 19 are about the same size AND slimmer than the USPc. Of course, the Glock has earned itself quite a reputation, but the Walther is no slouch either. Check out the grip and trigger on the Walther!

Another neat choice might be a Officers / Commander sized 1911 ...Kimber, Colt or SA?

Since you already have a full size, the .45 H&K Tactical might not be high on the list, but I wanted to throw it out there because I think it's such a great pistol.

My only complaint w/ the USPc 9mm is the 10 round limit for a gun of its size. Now, if you can get the full cap mags for your uspc, then go for it :D

Thanks for the comments!

I think I will probably stick to the USP platform here... So its time to go get a USP9c!

I have the USP9c and it has been flawless after over 15,000 rounds. It's an excellent handgun.

The only other 9mm that I want is the P7 series.

Walther P99 - 1.2" wide

Glock - 1.8" wide

HK USPc - 1.14" wide

Not enough difference to even notice in reality, but on paper, the USPc is not wider than the Glock or P99.

In contrast, the Grip of the USPc is noticeably thinner than that of the Glocks or P99.

;)

My bad - I stand corrected on the P99/USPc comparison ... might've been the overall length between the two pistols being nearly identical (but the Walther has a .5" longer barrel).

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

You're right about that Johnny Rad... The Walther does indeed have 1/2 inch on the barrel of the HK, while only being 1/4" longer overall.

I put this together for a comparison as I was trying (in vain) to consolidate carry/home pistol for financial (wife pregnant) reasons.

Keep in mind though, these are .40 pistols, which generally tend to be .05 - .15" longer, and an ounce or two heavier.

(I do of course realize that I am about to prove to all who view this that I am COMPLETELY Obsessive)

And oh yeah... The two end pistols were the two I was trying to replace with one of the ones in the middle, just so you don't think I was trying to CC a USP45, or HD with a Kahr P40 :)

Onslaught, I think you're figures are off. No way the Glock is 1.8 inches wide. Maybe 1.18. 1.8 is thicker than a Beretta (1.5).
