Altamont Super Walnut Grips?

I have been on the Altamont page and they do some beautiful work in "Super Woods". I assume that this is some sort of urathane stabilized wood product?
The web site didn't provide details. Anyone here have any idea of just what "Super Walnut" actually is?

It's a laminate, usually birch, dyed for the desired color. As is their "rosewood".

I put those on my wife's P238. They look very nice and seem indestructible and they sell them at a decent price.

I would have no problem putting them on another gun.

My guess is their some sort of wood dust plastic pressed product. The finish is just fine.

I have a set of the Super Rosewood checkered finger groove combats on my 2-1/2" Model 66 No Dash. They fit perfect, and look great. I am totally happy with them.

I am now thinking about a couple sets of Square Butts for my 617, and 64.

Like was said above the price is not bad at all, and no issues with quality so far.

I bought some Altamont inserts for my old style GP100 grips. They look super. And they were fairly low priced.
