Alloy frame P229 vs Steel Frame P229

I've been hearing things about an older generation Sig Sauer P229 being made with steel frames and that causing differences is comfortably. I own a P229 .357 Sig Nitron Carry and it's made with a stainless slide and alloy frame made in N.H. there are other models I've seen and read that have steel frames and are German. I also heard there are hybrid German made and U.S. made P229s. I would imagine a P229 with stainless steel frame would be more balanced since mine is top heavy. My friend tells me it is good for him because it absorbs the recoil in some way in his mind is better than a full stainless piece. Can anybody help shed light on this?

I prefer my P228 and M11-A1 the way they both came with an alloy frame since these are 9mm. If I had a P229 in .357 Sig I’m fairly certain I’d rather have that one with the heavier stainless frame to help tame that recoil a bit.

The heavier the gun...the less recoil you will get for a given cartridge.

I have a pair of 226's all stainless...one in 9mm and one in .40 ....and I do prefer them over the typical 226 in an alloy frame and stainless slide.../ ...but i don't think the standard one feels top heavy...i just like the feel of the extra weight - but we are only talking about a few ounces here too. But i like them in all stainless.
