Alliant 20/28 in handgun

I decided to purchase a pound for cheap and researched that it is similar to unique.

I did some shooting today and while I will take no responsibility for injury or misuse, I will say this :

In 9mm and 40 this is a solid powder.

Loads tested included a 115 gn bullet on top of 4.7 grains. Super accurate, moderate recoil.
180 grain on top of 5, 5.2, 5.7, and 6. 5.2 was my favorite for recoil and accuracy. 5.7 and 6.0 flung the brass a good three yards and had pretty stiff recoil.

Not scientific, and no chrono, but for those wondering, here ya go.

I have used it for a number of years to reload 44spl. I get 3-5% higher velocities than Unique for the same charge weight. Never had any signs of high pressure and it meters much better than Unique. All my loads are mid range. I will continue to use it for reloading pistol rounds.

It does indeed measure better! I also like the light gray and dark gray speckled mix. I'm a sucker for pretty powders. I'll probably use this instead of Unique in the future for my Unique applications.

I've tested it in .45 Colt, .44Spec, .44Mag, and .357 over a chronograph.

I treat it just like Unique. Close enough... 20/28 does meter better.
