All Stainless Steel Sig P220!

Sig announced an all stainless steel P220. This is a standard (non-Sport) 220 with a SS frame and slide.

I might just pick one up down the road if Sig sends them Kalifornia for testing (even a SS frame constitutes a different model for the "safety tests").

Wow--I sure would like to have one. It sounds like an absolute winner. The question will be whether I can afford one. Garden-variety P220s are nearly 700 bucks locally. I figure a full SS P220 would cost significantly more. Hopefully SIG will try to keep the price out of the stratosphere, but I'm not counting on it.

We have two on order at the gun store I work for.I got word through the OBNW that production/delivery was halted due to accuracy problems. There are those of us that expect a certain level of performance from an OOTB Sig. There has been no set price on these announced yet. The former is a good sign the latter not so good. Lets see how the new owners do.

According to Sig's 2001 Consumer Price List, the P220 ST has a suggested retail of $879; it is $969 with SIGLITE Night Sights.

Handled one at the Shot Show. MAN, that thing is HEAVY! Thanks, but no thanks. I'll keep my plain old Sig P220 with alloy frame. Love it, but see no point in the much heavier and much pricier stainless steel one.
